FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) slabs. Includes standard deduction and Section 87A rebate; excludes surcharge on incomes above ₹50 lakh and marginal relief.
How this calculator works
Under the FY 2025-26 new regime, income up to ₹12 lakh is effectively tax-free for salaried taxpayers (₹12.75 lakh with the ₹75,000 standard deduction) thanks to the Section 87A rebate. Slabs then run from 5% to 30% above ₹24 lakh.
The old regime keeps lower exemption limits but allows deductions — 80C, 80D, HRA, home-loan interest. The calculator computes both on your inputs; the regime with the lower total wins. Surcharge on incomes above ₹50 lakh is not included.
